The Making Of My Skirt in photos

So I still don't have my skirt back but I have photo's of it up to a really close to finished point so here they are ^_^
Once I'd cut all the pieces out then I sewed the pleats in and the turn back at the centre front. The two halves of the front of the skirt were then sewed to each other. Next step was to sew on the pockets.
One side of the pockets attached
The other side attached. The pocket is a pocket now!
The two halves of the back of the skirt are joined most of the way up. At the top it's left unattached so the zip can be added after the yoke has been attached. Next is to attach the skirt front to back and then to add the yoke.

So from this to the finished skirt was literally just the hem overlocked and sewn up. I think I'll get it back in two weeks. ;_; I wants it now...
This is my swimsuit pattern that I made for an assignment and my bodice block also for the assignment.

I also had to make a dress and lingerie block as well as a bra pattern and a waspie pattern. I should probably mention that the difference between a block and a pattern is that a block usually is the starting point for a pattern. You take the block and you manipulate it to create the pattern you need - by changing where the darts are, changing style lines etc. The bodice block is confusing for some people as to how it's laid out. The circular hole there is the armhole circle. The large cut out on the right side of that is a dart which is in a really stupid place but is easy to manipulate into another place (like so it comes from the side of the bust). The diamond shapes on the two sides are darts and the diamond shape in the middle are the side seams.
Next post is going to be with some designs I'm going to be making soon(-ish). They're so cool! Must finish other stuff first thou...

Yes I am going to wear this SIZE 12 OLD SCHOOL SIZING swimsuit. It will cover all of about 10% of me. And seriously it'd have to be in winter since I love the cold so much. Oh goodie hypothermia here I come!!! XDDD

Yeah Sean made a skirt but he made it for his sister. He'll have trousers to go with his man-corset. ^^
That swimsuit sounds very scary... *shudder*

Date: 2011-04-28 07:27 pm (UTC)You should tell Sean he can totally rock the skirt, especially if he splits the front and turns it into a kilt. He shouldn't be scared!
That swimsuit sounds GORGEOUS and you know it! Don't lie!

GORGEOUS SWIMSUIT! Maybe you can make it as a quasi-ballgown bustier/under... thing

Date: 2011-05-03 11:15 am (UTC)Are you suggesting that the swimsuit that is going to only fit an arm instead be attached to the ballgown as a sleeve???

Date: 2011-05-03 12:59 pm (UTC)Swimsuit ballgown sleeves sounds fabulous. I don't know why you aren't making this RIGHT NOW
